Book Description

No matter your goals, Atomic Habits offers a proven framework for improving–every day. James Clear, one of the world’s leading experts on habit formation, reveals practical strategies that will teach you exactly how to form good habits, break bad ones, and master the tiny behaviors that lead to remarkable results.

If you’re having trouble changing your habits, the problem isn’t you. The problem is your system. Bad habits repeat themselves again and again not because you don’t want to change, but because you have the wrong system for change. You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems. Here, you’ll get a proven system that can take you to new heights.

Learn how to:

  • make time for new habits (even when life gets crazy);
  • overcome a lack of motivation and willpower;
  • design your environment to make success easier;
  • get back on track when you fall off course;

…and much more.

Atomic Habits will reshape the way you think about progress and success, and give you the tools and strategies you need to transform your habits–whether you are a team looking to win a championship, an organization hoping to redefine an industry, or simply an individual who wishes to quit smoking, lose weight, reduce stress, or achieve any other goal.

My Review

 I don’t wanna be hyperbolic, but to say James Clear’s Atomic Habits is a life-changing book would be an understatement. With over 30 million copies sold worldwide and growing every single year, as it is still one of the number one bestselling books in the world. Giving it any less than that would be absolute disservice to a great book.

So right off the bat, if you want the quick answer to this, this book is a six out of five stars. This is a life-changing book, and if you are serious about living your best life, it is a must read for anybody who is truly dedicated to living the best version of themselves humanly possible. I had heard about this book for years and had not read it.

Was absolutely shocked when I read it to find out that it was very affirming of my own beliefs, my own approach to personal development and growth. One of the things I had long held to in my own beliefs on personal development and personal growth as a trainer, as a coach, has always been in the concept of incremental improvement.

I was. Absolutely mind blown to find out that not only was my thought, not unique, but it was so universally accepted at a larger level. James Clear’s book Atomic Habits, breaks Down the Art of Building Good Habits. One of the things that I’ve talked about many times is the reason people fail at like New Year’s resolutions and in changing their life is they underestimate.

The scope of the change that they wanna make. We see this all the time when New Year’s resolutions, because people were like, well, I’m going to start going to the gym. People who have never gone to the gym in their lives, people who’ve never been workout people, I’m gonna go to the gym and before January is out, that resolution is gone 83% of the time.

The problem is people don’t understand the scope involved because when you decide to go to the gym, there are 14 other decisions and life changes that have to go alongside that one seemingly simple resolution. And this is the truth about why people fail at changing their life. They don’t understand that this is still bigger than what they thought it was.

That person who decides they wanna take up an instrument. They’re underestimating often the amount of habits that have to go with that. Well, James Clear actually broke this down in an incredibly insightful and easy to understand, which is one of the values of this book is Mr. Clear is very good at distilling down complex ideas into very understandable tidbits of information that you can process.

Nine times out of 10, we have to break bad habits before we can build good habits. We don’t understand that only so much can occupy one space at a time, but the truth is when you want to add something to a full container, you can’t because you have other things that have to go first. One of the things I frequently give away.

Is a guide on taking out the trash, so to say, in your life, and that is getting rid of negative things in your life. Getting rid of things that don’t serve you to make room for the good things because that nine times outta 10 alone, short circuit people, they don’t understand the time commitment. They don’t understand what all is going to have to happen to apply positive things to their life.

They have to get rid of that negative stuff first. Not because that bad habit is necessarily short circuiting the good habit, but because you just don’t have time, you’re very busy. Atomic habits breaks us down in a very eloquent format that I wish I was capable of breaking it down to myself because James clear starts with explaining that bad habits short circuit you.

Is it one in one out kind of thing? But like in the gym example, there are at least 14 things you gotta change for you to go to the gym every single day, or even four days a week, or five days a week, for you to make room in your life and actually build the habit of going to the gym. If you are serious about making changes in your life in a positive way, then I highly recommend Atomic Habits.

This is a book that I believe in so much that there are very few books. I give books as gifts on a regular basis because to me that’s a worthwhile investment. It’s a worthwhile gift. You can truly change somebody’s life with a good book. And this is one of the few books I actually give out on a regular basis.

I’ve actually bought more copies of Atomic Habits and giving them away as presence than I think any other book I’ve ever had before. I read a lot of books. I go through a lot of all kinds of books from business books to personal development books, relationship books. I actually rarely get to read fiction at this point because I’m so busy reading other books.

Most of the time. Out of the tons of books that are listed in this library, uh, on my website, atomic Habits is one of the only books I consistently give people because I believe so much of this book will make a massive difference in your life. Most time, I’m very much against the concept of going with the herd, but it’s already sold over 30 million, how over 30 million copies.

And as I’m looking at this right now, it is number three on the Amazon charts, even though this book came out in 2018. Okay, so here we are seven years later and it’s still one of the top selling books in the world. If you are serious about changing your life, you need to read Atomic Habits. Now, I’ve listened to the audio book as well as read the actual book and I the audio book’s.

Okay. I still would recommend getting the hard copy of the book if you’re going to read the audio book and read the hard copy of the book with the audio book as you go, because the audiobook, the performer did a fine job, but it’s. Loses something. If you’re looking for the shortcut, you can find James Clear presenting his concept of atomic habits on the TED stage.

You can find that on YouTube. It’s an hour of your time well spent to listen to that. I would still, even though I’ve listened to that multiple times, I was still recommend reading the book like I did because you’ll get so much more out of it. Guys, if you are a serious reader, if you’re serious about personal growth, atomic habits is a must read, and I highly recommend it, and I hope this book review was helpful for you guys.
